Several years ago, Friends of Ho Diocese completed a primary school at Keptoe Village, one of the Volta Region’s oldest communities. We are now forging forward to complete a Junior Secondary School and Learning Center (JSS) for children in the seventh, eighth and ninth grades at Gbi Atabu.
THE JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL AT GBI ATABU, HO GHANA
We are now foraging ahead to complete construction of the Junior Secondary School and Learning Center (JSS) at Gbi Atabu, Ghana. When finished, this will be an educational facility and activities center for children in the seventh, eighth and ninth grades.
Education is the only way out of poverty for the poor of the Volta Region. Often they lose heart because of the hardships of life. The JSS we are building will help put children on the college preparatory track and make them eligible for a good high school in order to progress to college. There will be three classrooms, a computer lab and library and the equipment necessary to enhance their educational experience.
The Junior Secondary School is a critical bridge which will help youngsters to enhance their skills, develop individual abilities and deepen their knowledge to be able to take full advantage of high school.
